Faustinus Deraet was born in Antwerp, Belgium. He moved to Mexico City where he grew up. He obtained a Bachelor's in Computer Systems from the Universidad Iberoamericana in 1988 and later worked for IBM/Mexico. After 4 years of working as a commercial photographer, Faustinus Deraet specialized in portrait photography. He began taking photographs of prominent Latin American musicians and actors.His art photography has been shown in Hungary, Mexico City and the US. His work has also been published in books, magazines, brochures and newsletters. He has obtained some prizes and recognitions as well as been selected in several contests. His work is part of the Wittliff Gallery of Southwestern & Mexican Photography Collection in San Marcos, Texas.
